HOW I LOST 100 POUNDS
Even though I understand my mission in life and love the services I provide, I feel like I’m one of the few who has found my purpose in life.
Daily, I focus on changing the lives of others by educating and showing them their life path. I love assisting those who have given up on themselves and guiding them to find their purpose.
I’m not a neurosurgeon performing brain surgery, but I’m saving and changing lives. My primary goal for clients focuses on improving their actual performance and reducing chances of injury. The varying factor is the “performance” in their life. Performance could focus on enhancing an athlete’s speed or even developing coordination skills that could help clients carry groceries into their home.
Several new opportunities have manifested through my work. In one particular experience, I assisted an insurance company with improving the health of their employees. Working with these employees was remarkable, and the changes I observed within the group made me very proud.
As I share the journey of one these insurance team members, I want Millennial Moms to know that small but consistent changes can lead to BIG results!
A client recounts:
Six years ago, I was the heaviest I had ever been at a whopping 374 pounds. My weight gain resulted from several health conditions, poor eating habits and lack of exercise.
I was excited yet very nervous when my employer, Epic Insurance Solutions, announced that they were presenting us with an opportunity to improve our personal health. Cynthia offered a boot camp class that included two days a week of physical fitness and daily nutritional guidelines.
The idea of working out in front of coworkers and peers made me uncomfortable; after all, I couldn’t perform even one sit-up. Nevertheless, I seized the opportunity and executed the first workout. I was exhausted, but for the first time in years, I believed in myself and knew I could make it through the boot camp.
Cynthia provided us with the essential tools and warm confidence we needed to succeed. She shifted us outside our comfort zone and continually encouraged us to be the greatest people possible.
If we had questions or needed assistance with our nutritional plans, conditioning or challenges, Cynthia had our backs.
It’s incredible! I’m able to perform what I once believed was impossible; I can get up and down off the ground with ease, walk around the block without being out of breath and perform a variety of exercises (planks, sit-ups and burpees).
I ran my first 5k this year, and I’m pleased to say that after 13 months, I’ve lost 100 pounds and 30 inches! Cynthia’s introduction to a healthy lifestyle was the start of my new healthy life.
I can’t wait to see what my future holds; I’m grateful and appreciative for Epic Insurance Solutions and my co-workers for their support, but I couldn’t have conquered the first steps to a new lifestyle without the impact of Cynthia’s systematic boot camp.
I’m healthy and happy!
3 Steps: HOW YOU CAN LOSE 100 POUNDS TOO
Self-awareness is crucial when making a personal change. Identify your bad habits and recognize the changes you need to make in your current life. During your journey, you will notice positive and negative traits about yourself. Although the truth can hurt, it can also set you free. Building self-awareness creates discipline; without discipline, it’s unlikely you will execute structured plans.
Hire a coach or trainer
A supportive coach can guide you through your fitness routine and ensure you are following the proper types of exercises and meal plans. Make sure you trust your coach and that he or she truly has your best interest.
Join or create a support group
Support groups help us accomplish our goals, which also applies to fitness. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people pursuing a similar health goal will improve your progress. Support keeps you motivated and accountable during the physical program; taking walks, runs and discussing the same challenges as a group can help you see that you are not alone.
Remember, you don’t have to starve yourself to lose weight. Always consult your physician if you have medical conditions; talk to your doctor before making lifestyle changes. Be safe and have fun in your journey.
