Buying organic will keep these harmful chemicals off your plate while supporting the economy by decreasing the use of toxic substances released into our environment.
Buy Local. When it comes to food, locally grown taste and looks better. Crops are picked at their peak and in a short amount of time, table-ready. The process of locally produced products takes place in a nearby facility as opposed to an industrial plant. Imported food manage to lose nutrients and freshness; the transportation from planes to trucks and then food sitting in a warehouse to be filtered can cause contamination.
Cook once, eat twice. A rule of thumb when it comes to eating healthy, cook enough food to last more than one setting. What you prepare for dinner can be used for lunch the next day. Fixing food in large batches is a great time hack. You will spend less time slaving over the stove each day; food preparation will provide you more time to enjoy life!
